Electronic Business Bill submitted to National Assembly
Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Ramesh Rizal has submitted the ‘Electricity Trade Bill, 2080’ in the National Assembly.
After the Speaker of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timalsina informed that no notice of opposition has been received regarding the Bill, Minister Rizal presented the Electronic Business Bill, 2080 in the National Assembly today.
Presenting the bill, Minister Rizal said that since the purchase and sale of goods and services through electronic means is increasing in Nepal, there is a need for an Act related to electronic business to regulate and facilitate transactions through electronic means, to make it systematic and reliable.
He said that through e-commerce, job creation in the country, easy supply of goods and services and promotion of exports and production of micro, domestic, small and medium industries can be increased.
Minister Rizal pointed out that there is a need for a bill to make it systematic and reliable, in order to solve the problems caused by doing business through electronic means and to protect consumers due to lack of laws.
