Free technical education to 640 students
The Technical Education and Vocational Training Council has provided free technical education to 640 students with residential facilities and subsistence allowance from this year.
Ekaraj Adhikari, information officer of the council, informed that 640 students have been provided free technical education with residential facilities and subsistence allowance to 99 local level students and poor, Dalit and Muslim students from all over the country who do not have access to technical education.
According to him, 80 people from 99 local levels are being studied under a special scholarship program for three-year diploma and underprivileged, Dalit and Muslim community students, 160 people for 18 months pre-diploma level and 400 people for three-year diploma and certificate level.
He said that Rs 3,500 per month for subsistence allowance, Rs 1,500 per year for transportation expenses and Rs 2,500 per year for clothing expenses will also be provided to those students.
Eighty students are being taught three-year crop science, diploma in agriculture and diploma in hotel management subjects for free. He informed that he is studying Diploma in Agriculture at Sriram Mithila Polytechnic College, Bhojpur and Diploma in Hotel Management at Nepal Banepa Polytechnic College, Banepa.
Eighteen months pre-diploma agriculture, forestry, automobile engineering and civil engineering subjects are studied.
Similarly, three-year diplomas in civil engineering, agronomy, geomatics engineering, biomedical engineering, civil specialization in hydropower engineering, refrigeration and air conditioning engineering, medicinal and aromatic plants, animal science and civil engineering are studied.
