With the rumor mills all abuzz, the Honor Magic 5 and 5 Pro’s full specs along with pricing info are here. A tipster has posted the specs list of these phones on the popular Chinese site, Weibo. Let’s get more into the specs, features, and expected price of Honor Magic 5 and 5 Pro in Nepal.

Design and Display

As per the Weibo leaksthe Honor Magic 5 and 5 Pro will sport a 6.8-inch OLED panel. It will also come with LTPO technology for variable refresh rates between 1 – 120Hz. Furthermore, the spec sheet also reveals other attributes such as 480Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and up to 1100 nits of brightness.

Design-wise, the Magic 5 and 5 Pro are likely to share a metal-glass combination chassis. We could also see the Magic 5 Pro bearing IP68 dust/water resistance, whereas the vanilla model could settle with an inferior IP54 dust/splash resistant design.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Both smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip under the hood. This flagship processor includes one high-performance Cortex-X3 (@3.2 GHz), two mid-performance Cortex-A715 (@2.8 GHz), another two mid-performance Cortex-A710 (@2.8 GHz), and three efficiency-focused Cortex-A510 (@2.0 GHz) cores. As for the memory configurations, the Magic 5 and Pro will come up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

Camera

The specs sheet also details the cameras of the Magic 5 series. It mentions a 54MP Sony IMX800 primary camera, a 50MP Sony IMX758 lens, and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor for the vanilla Magic 5. Whereas the Magic 5 Pro will feature a Sony IMX878 primary camera with OIS support, an OmniVision OV64B sensor, and a Sony IMX516 camera. Additionally, both the siblings will also sport a ToF, a flicker sensor, and a 13MP Sony IMX688 front camera.

Moreover, the Honor Magic 5 series will also boast an under-display fingerprint scanner. The Magic 5 is settling with a 2D face scanner whereas the Pro model gets a 3D face scanner for biometrics and security.

As for the battery, the vanilla Magic 5 will boast a 5000mAh cell with 66W fast charging while the Pro model will pack a smaller 4,800mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. Honor Magic 5 Pro will also have 50W wireless charging. Other features of these phones include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and USB 3.1 for connectivity. There will also be an X-axis linear motor for haptics and Dolby-powered dual speakers.

Honor Magic 5 Series Launch Date and Availability

The Honor Magic 5 series is set to debut on February 27 at MWC 2023. These phones will initially be available in China (obviously) and will hit the global market after a while. Price-wise, the Honor Magic 5 and 5 Pro are rumored to start at CNY 4,999 (~ USD 735) and CNY 5,999 (~ USD 880), respectively.
