Huawei Mate X3 Rumors 2023 Launch Date Specifications

Huawei is all set to introduce a new member to its “X” series of foldable phones. And some specifications of the upcoming Huawei Mate X3 have recently leaked online, revealing some aspects like display and durability.

Huawei Mate X3 Rumors:

Thinner and lighter form factor

Huawei recently teased its upcoming foldable with the tagline “light as a wing, firm as a rock”. This suggests that the Mate X3 will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the Huawei Mate X2.

The teaser poster also mentions the “Kunlun” glass. It’s the same glass used in the Mate 50 series. According to Huawei, this is an ultra-high-strength drop-resistant glass with a 10-fold increase in drop resistance and a rock-solid effect in terms of impact resistance.

UTG Display

Ross Young, CEO of the DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants), has also revealed a few details about the display of the Huawei Mate X3. According to him, the phone will have a 7.85″ LTPO foldable display—which is slightly smaller than the 8″ panel on the Mate X2. The cover display, on the other hand, will remain the same at 6.45″. And both displays will be complemented by an LTPO controller for better adaptive refresh rate control.

Furthermore, Ross stated that the Mate X3 will be Huawei’s first smartphone to use Ultra Thin Glass (UTG), which will be manufactured by BOE. The internal screen, like its predecessor, will have no notch, while the outer screen will have a single hole-punch cutout for the camera.

More advanced satellite communication

Some previous rumors stated that Huawei’s next-gen satellite communications will also be integrated with this phone. This communication technology includes three routes: short-term voice calls, voice/text messages, and two-way text messaging. Basically, it will be a more advanced form of satellite communication feature that we saw on the Mate 50 series.
