Huawei has introduced a new operating system for phones. The company on Wednesday unveiled the Harmony operating system for smartphones.

Huawei’s Harmony OS will initially be used on some smartphones. Users will be able to use the Harmony operating system by modifying the existing Google’s Android OS.

From now on, the company will not be completely dependent on Android. The United States has barred Google from providing technical support and other mobile services on Huawei’s new phone models, citing data security.

That’s why Huawei has brought its own OS. Huawei has turned this OS into the Internet of Things platform, which allows it to be connected and run on laptops, smartwatches, cars and other devices.

The company released a video yesterday of a tablet, smartwatch and stylus using Harmony OS. There was also a teaser of P50 phone in the presentation.

Huawei aims to use Harmony OS on 200 million smartphones and 100 million third-party smart devices.

Once the world’s number one smartphone company is now ranked sixth. This new OS could help Huawei to the top.
