Imports of electric cars in Nepal increased sharply, mostly from India

The import of electric cars (EV) in Nepal is increasing day by day. According to the statistics of the customs department, 2 thousand 955 units of electric cars have been imported till the end of the fiscal year 2079/80.

During the same period last year, 1,551 units of electric cars were imported. Compared to May of the last financial year, 1,404 units or 90.52 percent of electric cars (EV) have entered Nepal during the same period of the current financial year.

In the first 10 months of the current year, electric cars worth Rs. 8,416,411,000 have been imported. The government has collected 2.3 billion 88.55 thousand rupees in revenue through electricity.

In the same period last year, electric cars worth 4 billion 52 crore 68 lakh 3 thousand rupees were imported into Nepal.

In Nepal, 2,882 units of 100 kW electric cars worth 8.98 billion 87 thousand rupees have been imported.

Similarly, according to the data of the Customs Department, 66 units of electric cars worth Rs.

In addition, 7 units of electric cars with a capacity of 200 to 300 KW worth 46.58 thousand rupees have been imported.

According to the customs department, electric cars are imported into Nepal from 5 countries including China, India, Indonesia, South Korea and America.

It seems that most electric cars in Nepal come from India. 1,968 units of electric cars worth Rs 5,327,954,000 have arrived from India.

710 units of electric cars worth 2 billion 133 million rupees have been imported from China.

According to the data of the department, 70 units of electric cars worth 1 billion 461 million 73 thousand rupees have arrived from South Korea.

4 units of electric cars worth 27 million 78 thousand rupees have arrived in Nepal from America.

3 units of electric cars worth 64 lakh 6 thousand rupees have been brought to Nepal from Indonesia.
