Body
Not a surprise, the Insta360 GO 3 borrows the same pill-shaped design from the Insta360 GO 2. The compact camera now weighs 35 grams, 7 grams up from its predecessor. Well, what’s interesting is that the GO 3 now has an IPX8 rating. To compare, the GO 2 only had an IPX4 rating. So, this new camera can submerge in water up to 5 meters and is also ready to go on a rainy day. Plus, it comes with a lens guard attached by default.
This time around, you get a dual mic: one on the front and one on the top. Likewise, there is a magnetic pendant to which the GO 3 can attach through a built-in magnet. So, it allows you to hang the camera on your T-shirt and capture POV shots.
Action Pod
Insta360 is also providing the Action Pod inside the box. It has a high res 2.2-inch screen to preview your shots. This display can also flip to the front for those vlogging actions. And, the touchscreen allows you to toggle through the settings. Likewise, the Action Pod features a magnetic quick-release latching system for mounting on a tripod. Besides that, the Pod can also double as a Bluetooth remote for the GO 3.

The lens has an f/2.2 aperture and an 11.24mm focal length on the GO 3. This new portable camera can capture up to 2.7K footage at 30fps. You also get to shoot in 2K and Full HD resolution at 24, 25, 30 and 50fps like on the GO 2. For slow motion, it can capture at 120 fps in 1080p resolution.
While the camera includes three recording modes: Pre-Recording, Loop Recording, and Timed Capture. Other than that, there is a FreeFrame mode as well that allows changing the aspect ratio.
And the stabilization is handled by a 6-axis gyroscope and FlowState stabilization. You also get a 360 Horizon Lock to avoid distortion and tilting.
Battery Life and Others
Fueling this tiny camera is a 310mAh cell which takes 35 minutes for a full charge. On the other hand, the Action Pod packs a 1,270 mAh battery which gets fille dup within 65 minutes via a USB Type-C port. Talking of battery life, the GO 3 is rated for 45 minutes usage which extends to 170 minutes through the Pod.
