Mega Bank to provide technology friendly farmer cards to farmers

Mega Bank Nepal Limited is going to provide cards to farmers. The bank, in collaboration with Himashikhar Agro, has entered into an agreement to provide easy access to agricultural loans including the bank’s modern technology-friendly Kisan Card.

On behalf of Mega Bank, Chief of Micro and Agro Financing Department Punya Prasad Khaniya and Chief Executive Officer of Himashikhar Agro Prakash Chandra Ghimire signed the agreement.

Following the agreement with Himashikhar Agro, Mega Bank will provide agricultural loans and Mega Kisan Cards to farmers in rural areas to purchase agricultural inputs and seeds required for agricultural production.

Khaniya, head of the micro and agro financing department of Mega Bank, said that in the first phase, agricultural loans including Kisan Card would be provided to the farmers of Province No. 1 through local branches. He said that the service would be provided to farmers across the country after Province No. 1.

Through Kisan Card, farmers will be able to purchase their essential agricultural inputs, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other items from designated places and shops.

Mega Bank is now collaborating with R&D Innovative Solutions and Karma Group to provide agricultural loans to farmers with Mega Kisan Card.

In the future, the bank plans to provide modern technology-friendly Mega Kisan Card service across the country in collaboration with other organizations related to the agricultural sector.
