Meizu 20, 20 Pro Rumors:
It’s been quite a while since Meizu launched a flagship smartphone. The company’s last entry in this space is Meizu 18s Pro which debuted with Snapdragon 888+ SoC in Seot 2021. Now, after more than a year of break, the company is preparing to launch Meizu 20 series.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
One of the foremost leaks about the upcoming Meizu phones is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The brand itself confirmed this a few weeks ago while the Antutu and Geekbench data are also pointing the same. The flagship SoC from Qualcomm is the most powerful Android chip to date.
This 5G silicon is fabricated under TSMC’s 4nm architecture and features a 1+4+3 core arrangement while the Adreno 740 handles the graphics here.
Display
As confirmed on the teasers, both the Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro will sport a 10-bit Samsung E6 AMOLED panel. The image also states a 144Hz refresh rate for the vanilla model. So, we can also expect the same or even higher refresh rate on the Pro variant.
Meanwhile, both of the siblings will share the LTPO technology, making the refresh rate variable from 1Hz to 120Hz. And the peak brightness is expected at 1,800 nits brightness.
Design and Camera
Looking at the official teasers on the website, both phones will have a flat frame design. The vanilla Meizu 20 is featuring a triple-camera setup while the Pro goes with a quad-camera setup as seen in the image. Rumors are hinting at a 50MP primary sensor with OIS for both siblings.
Others
Talking of an exclusive feature for the Meizu 20 Pro, the phone will come with CCC 3.0 digital key standard for cars. To Note, Chinese automotive corporation Geely which acquired the highest stakes of Meizu in 2022, is an EV maker. CCC Digital Key is a standardized ecosystem that enables mobile devices to store, authenticate, and share Digital Keys for vehicles.
