Meta is developing new AI infrastructure to advance in areas such as generative AI and metaverse.

MTIA is an internal, custom accelerator chip. It is claimed to provide more computing power and efficiency than CPU. It has been adapted for the internal workload of the company.

MTIA is powered by the company’s AI data center, which will not only support existing products but also enable future-generation AI hardware for training.
