Namaste Pay users can now pay by scanning PhonePay QR

An agreement has been signed between Nepal’s leading payment network PhonePay and Nepal’s first government-owned digital payment wallet ‘Namastepe’ to join the PhonePay QR payment network.

Diwas Kumar Sapkota, Chief Executive Officer of PhonePe and Pravinraj Pokharel, Chief Executive Officer of NamastePe signed the agreement.

Representatives and media persons of Phonepay and Namastepay were present in the event. With this agreement, all Namastepay users can make quick, secure and easy QR payments through the Phonepay network at over 1.2 million Phonepay merchants across Nepal.

Speaking at the event after the signing of the agreement, Diwas Kumar Sapkota, Chief Executive Officer of PhonePe, said that he is excited to officially welcome NamastePay to PhonePe’s network.

“Now Namastepay users can also pay through PhonePay Q-R,” he said, “We are confident that collaboration with Namastepay will further help promote digital payments in Nepal.”

This partnership is instrumental in our vision to provide users with a comprehensive and convenient digital payment experience. By partnering with Namastepay, our customers will have even more payment options and further boost our inclusive financial ecosystem.

Similarly, expressing his happiness on the agreement, Namastepay Chief Executive Officer Pravinraj Pokharel said that he is very excited to include the PhonePay network in our payment system and provide our users with payment services at more than 1.2 million merchants.
