Ncell Presents 16th Darwarmarg Street Festival Purple Saturday was grandly concluded

On the occasion of Nepali New Year 2080, the Ncell Presents 16th Darwarmarg Road Festival Purple Saturday, held on the 2nd of Baisakh, Saturday, in Kathmandu’s Darwarmarg, has been grandly completed.

The festival was organized with the slogan “Nepali production is our pride, civilization and culture is our job”. Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Darwarmarg Development Board and Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (Reban) have organized this festival with the special cooperation and main sponsorship of the federation with Ncell.

Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati, President of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chandra Dhakal, Senior Vice President of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anjan Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of Ncell Andy Chong, officials of Darwarmarg Development Board and Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (Reban) jointly. He inaugurated the festival.

The main objective of this festival was to support the tourism development of the country by promoting domestic tourism, to keep the morale of micro, domestic, small and medium enterprises and tourism industry high, to promote Nepali products, Nepali dishes and Nepali culture, to support the promotion and preservation of culture within Kathmandu Metropolitan City. .

The official launch of the festival started at 11:00 am with a performance reflecting the culture of Kathmandu Valley. The festival was organized enthusiastically till 9 pm with various entertaining performances and various fun activities in the area where the festival was held. More than 150,000 people participated in the festival from the beginning of the program till the evening.

Famous singers, artists and musical groups had their performances in this festival. Kutumb, Deepak Bajracharya and Rhythm Band, Pahelo Batti Muni, Trishala Gurung, Aviskar KC, Rohit Shakya, Synchronous, Lahure and The Elements entertained the audience and visitors.

In addition to this, handicraft items produced by entrepreneurs with different physical abilities and items produced by handicraft entrepreneurs including women entrepreneurs were also put on display.

A separate Kids Zone with various attractive games was arranged for the children, while stalls displaying various Nepali food dishes and indigenous products were the attraction of the festival.

Similarly, an online gaming competition for video game connoisseurs was also conducted at the festival. A Tiktok booth and a DJ booth were also set up to take photos and videos for all those who came to the festival.

The festival is organized with the special support of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Nepal Tourism Board. The co-sponsors were Carlsberg and other supporting organizations were Kunu Nepal and NDS Ice Cream.

The organizers believe that the festival will greatly help in this effort, in the context of the ongoing work on how the economy, tourism business, which has been weakened due to various reasons including the recent liquidity crisis, can be brought to revival and new upliftment.
