Now AI can even sketch scenes that are moving in the human mind

Now Artificial Intelligence (AI) i.e. artificial intelligence is able to sketch the scenes going on in the human brain.

With the help of AI and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) machines, it is possible to sketch the scene of the human brain.

According to a paper published last November by a research group including Jijiao Chen, a doctoral student at the National University of Singapore, it is possible to find out what people are thinking by decoding their brain scans.

The research team, made up of researchers from the National University of Singapore, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Stanford University, asked the participants to view more than 1,000 images from fMRI, including gray buildings, firetrucks and giraffes raking leaves.

While viewing the picture, the fMRI was recording the signal of the participant’s brain in real time. The researchers then sent certain related images and brain patterns to train the Singnal AI model.

The system detected the brain waves in the picture shown inside the fMRI and also generated the brain waves that the participant was thinking. Then an AI image generator was used to produce a picture similar to what the participant had seen.

The picture generated by the said AI matched the real picture by about 84 percent. However, about 20 hours before the test, it is necessary to train the AI model on each participant’s brain activity from the fMRI data.

Researchers believe that this technology can be used anywhere in a decade. According to Chen, it can recover what patients with disabilities think and see.

Scientists have been working for a long time to decode the workings of the mind through technology. Many AI researchers are currently working on various neuro-related AI applications.

Jack Gallant, a scientist at the University of California, Berkeley, has been studying how to decode the brain through different algorithms for decades.

Jack said that developing this technology will depend not only on brain decoding models and AI, but also on brain imaging equipment and data available to researchers. It is said that the fMRI machine and data collection will hinder the study of the brain.

As brain decoding is seen to be used in the medical field in the next decade, it will take a few decades to reach the general public.
