Nvidia has officially unveiled the much-anticipated GeForce RTX 4070 desktop GPU. It’s the fifth member of the RTX 40-series family and is the successor to RTX 3070. So let’s get into the specs, features, availability, and expected price of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 in Nepal.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Overview:
As expected, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is built on the Ada Lovelace architecturetypical of the RTX 40 series. It boasts 12GB GDDR6X memory, a 192-bit bus, 21Gbps speed, and 504GBps bandwidth, which is similar to the 4070Ti. Both GPUs also have the same AD104 GPU, but Nvidia has reduced the number of CUDA cores and boost frequency in the 4070.
Compared to the RTX 4070Ti, which has 7680 CUDA cores and 2610MHz boost clock speed, the RTX 4070 has 5888 CUDA cores and a maximum clock speed of 2475MHz. Additionally, the RTX 4070 supports DLSS 3, enabling it to run demanding games like Dying Light 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and A Plague Tale: Requiem at over 100 fps.
Nvidia also claims that the RTX 4070 is 1.4x faster than the 3080 and 2.6x faster than the 2070 Super, thanks to the frame generation support provided by DLSS 3. The desktop GPU also comes with AV1 codec support, which streamers will find particularly useful as it improves live stream bitrate by 40%.
For starters, bitrate determines the quality of streaming video and audio. Thus, a higher bitrate will result in higher-quality streaming. Notably, AV1 is already supported by the popular broadcasting app OBS Studio, and YouTube is set to roll out AV1 live streaming soon.
