Realme launched its latest 8 lineup of smartphones just a couple of weeks ago. This number series includes a couple of 4G-ready mid-range phones, namely the Realme 8 and 8 Pro. The company is now preparing to launch their 5G variants, as confirmed by Realme’s CEO last month. Let’s take a look at what the company has planned for the Realme 8 5G.
Realme 8 5G Rumors Roundup:
The Realme India Support account on Twitter confirmed that the Realme 8 5G and 8 Pro 5G preparation has already started. Although there aren’t many rumors about the Pro variant, Realme 8 5G has been making rounds on the internet for a few days now.
Design and Display
From the teaser posters, the phone seems to share its design language with the standard 4G variant. But thankfully, Realme seems to have skipped the outlandish “Dare To Leap” branding at the back this time around.
In terms of the main display, the handset is expected to be released with an IPS panel rather than an AMOLED screen. According to the FCC certification, it will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner rather than the in-display scanner used on the standard Realme 8. Furthermore, the 5G variant will be larger and thicker than the regular version. The unit is 8.5mm thick and weighs approximately weighs 185g.
As of the most current Geekbench listing, the upcoming device carries the model number “RMX3241”. This is identical to the one that received NBTC certification a few weeks earlier. The listing shows the device’s core specifications. It will be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 5G SoC and 8GB of RAM.
Furthermore, the device will be powered by a 5000mAh battery and will run Android 11 out of the box with Realme UI 2.0 on top. In addition, the US certifying authority confirms that the 5G version will have NFC. All of this points to the conclusion that Realme 8 5G is simply a rebrand of the V13 5G. The phone was launched alongside Realme GT Neo in China on March 31. However, the Realme V13 5G lacks an NFC chip.
