Realme GT Neo 5 Rumors, Leaks, Specs, Availability

Realme GT Neo 5 Rumors

Realme is preparing for the launch of its next premium mid-range smartphone — the GT Neo 5. The renders of the phone surfaced a while ago, and now we have a detailed specs sheet. So, let’s get into the leaked specs, rumored features, and everything else we know about the Realme GT Neo 5 so far.

Realme GT Neo 5 Rumors Roundup:

240W Fast Charging

At its launch, Realme GT Neo 3 was among the fastest charging phone with support for 150W charging. If the leaks are true, its successor will take this even further. Realme is said to offer GT Neo 5 in two variants. The standard version will have a 5,000mAh battery and 150W fast charging to go with it. The other variant will pack a relatively small 4,600mAh battery to make room for 240W fast charging. Right now, the fastest charging phone is Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition with its 210W charging. Thus, Realme GT Neo 5 could debut as the phone with the fastest charging.

Performance and Memory

Realme GT Neo 5 will be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Launched about a year ago, the chip has now been overtaken by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Qualcomm’s diverse portfolio. However, it should not be a problem with the GT Neo 5 as it will compete in the premium midrange segment and not the flagship. Likewise, it will debut with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the software side, it will ship with Android 13 with the latest Realme UI 4.0 out of the box.

The leaked renders of the Realme GT Neo 5 show the phone with a redesigned camera bump. Basically, the top 1/3 portion of the phone’s back has been blacked out, with the rectangular camera module sitting inside to the left. It is home to three cameras arranged in two vertical circles, with the LED strip flash lying just outside.

Realme GT Neo 5 Leaked Rear Panel

We believe the top circle is for the primary sensor, which will be the 50MP Sony IMX890. It will replace the IMX766 on the GT Neo 3 while keeping the Optical Image Stabilization. Accompanying it, on the other circle, will be an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor.

Design and Display

Another interesting thing about the upcoming Realme GT Neo 5 is that some reports claim it will have some sort of RGB lighting. But so far, we have no idea how Realme plans to implement it as it has not yet been captured in the leaked renders. The phone will have a plastic frame.

Likewise, there will be a 6.7-inch FHD+ screen with 144Hz refresh rate on the front. It will also boast PWM dimming of 2160Hz for a more comfortable viewing angle. Since it will sport an AMOLED screen, it’s likely the screen will have an optical fingerprint scanner underneath it.
