Samsung is launching a couple of new smartwatches on the Unpacked Event scheduled for August 11. However, specs of the upcoming Watch 4 series have leaked online. Here, we will be discussing what we know so far about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic Overview:
Samsung is changing the naming convention of the Galaxy Watch lineup. The sporty model, previously Watch Active, will be the vanilla Glass Watch. On the other hand, the one with the iconic rotating bezel will be called Watch Classic.
Moving on, both Glass Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will come in two display sizes – 1.19-inch and 1.36-inch. Despite having the same sizes, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will be bigger because of its rotating bezel.

The Galaxy Watch 4 series have an AMOLED panel with Gorilla Glass DX, 5 ATM rating for water protection, and military certification for durability.
Inside, the Galaxy Watch 4 series will be powered by a new Exynos W920 chipset. It will replace the Exynos 9110 chipset that Samsung has been using since 2018. Previous reports claimed that the new SoC will offer 1.2x faster CPU and 8.8x better graphics performance.
The new chip will be paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It’s an upgrade from 1GB RAM and 8GB storage on previous models.
Samsung One UI Watch
As for the software, Samsung has opted “Wear“-based Samsung One UI Watch over its Tizen OS. The new software will come with a new look, Google Play integration, and will promise better synchronization with Galaxy smartphones.
Health Tracking Features
The Galaxy Watch 4 Series will support a wide range of health and fitness tracking features like heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen monitoring, electrocardiogram, sleep tracking, and more. There will be over 40 different sports modes. The watches will be able to self-detect many of them.
Another rumored feature is the body composition analysis in 15 seconds.
