The Bill on Electricity Trade was passed by the Council of Ministers

Today’s meeting of the Government of Nepal Council of Ministers has decided to submit the Bill to the Federal Parliament to regulate electricity trade.

After the meeting, it was decided to instruct the concerned ministry to submit the bill to the Parliament, which was discussed in the Bill Committee of the Council of Ministers, the spokesperson of the Government of Nepal and the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma informed.

The meeting appointed Madan Bhujel, joint secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, as the chairman of the Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market System Development Committee as per the proposal of the same ministry.

Also, according to the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been decided to prohibit strikes in essential services in accordance with Section 3, Sub-section 1 of the Essential Services Operation Act, 2014 and to publish a notice with the order in the Nepal Gazette, Minister Sharma informed.

According to that Act, there is a provision to make such a decision in six months. The meeting decided to use the national forest area of ​​Rasuwa and Nuwakot for the tower and right of way of the Upper Mailungkhola Hydropower Limited and to remove the trees there.

Today’s meeting has approved the visit of Balendra Shah, head of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, to participate in the ‘Metropolis World Congress and Brussels Urban Summit-2023’ program to be held in Brussels, Belgium from 29th to 32nd of May.

The meeting also decided to convert the industrial village located at Panchkhal in Kavre into a special industrial village for women entrepreneurs.
