The government did not reduce the tax on internet from the budget: Sudhir Parajuli

Sudhir Parajuli, president of Internet Service Providers Association of Nepal, said that the government has not reduced the tax on internet from the budget.

Parajuli said that the government has not reduced the tax on internet from the budget despite assurances to reduce the tax on internet in the digital dialogue being organized on Saturday.

“They promised to reduce the tax on the internet. That was not addressed in the budget, ‘he said.

“When taxes are high, 42 percent of the fees paid by broadband Internet users go to the government,” Parajuli said in a digital interview, “which is higher than international standards.”

He also informed that he has been assured to reduce the tax levied on internet in a few months even if the tax is not reduced from the budget.
