The metropolis will remove the unorganized wires of Kathmandu from tomorrow

The Nepal Telecommunication Authority and Internet service provider companies have agreed to remove unorganized wires within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City from Monday.

In a discussion held on Sunday between Nepal Telecommunication Authority, representatives of net service provider companies and the metropolitan city, the city said that the authority and internet service provider companies are ready to remove unorganized wires in the metropolitan area from Monday.

According to Metropolitan Police Superintendent Manoj Lamichhane, the disorderly wires in Maitighar Mandla and New Road areas will be removed from 8 am on Monday.

The Metropolitan Corporation had given a 15-day deadline to the authorities and internet service providers to remove the unorganized wires within 27 Baisakh.

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology had issued a circular to local levels across the country, including the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, not to remove wires to prevent service interruption. After that, the Metropolitan Municipality called the concerned parties and discussed the matter of removing the wire.

Lamichhane said that if the concerned body does not remove the wire by 27 Baisakh, the Metropolitan Corporation is preparing to remove it by itself. He said, ‘But in the discussion, it has been agreed to remove the wire from tomorrow. I believe that the wire will be removed from tomorrow.’
