Twitter has removed the ‘blue tick’ of individuals and organizations from the Prime Minister’s Office for non-payment.

Elon Musk, the CEO of the microblogging site Twitter, has started removing Twitter’s blue tick from non-paying users.

After the Twitter users who are getting Blue Tick without paying the fee, Musk has started to remove the blue T from the account of the user who has received the Blue Tick.

Earlier, Musk had warned that the company would remove the checkmarks from non-paying users with the introduction of the fee system.

Users have to pay $8 per month for Blue Checkmark. Golden Tick has been provided for businesses without subscription and Brown Tick for government accounts.

The company started verification in 2009 to discourage fake accounts. However, after Elon Musk bought Twitter in 2022, he changed this rule and started a subscription system through Blue Tiko.

In this way, the official Twitter account of Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Office, CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s account has also been removed from BlueTick.

Along with this, the Blue Tick of Nepali media including various national and international personalities and organizations has also been taken away by Twitter.

Currently, Twitter’s blue subscription feature has been launched only in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and Japan.

A blue checkmark i.e. tick will be provided to the user along with the Twitter Blue subscription. In addition, users who have a blue subscription will get facilities such as editing their tweets, uploading a 1080 pixel video, and going into reader mode.

Also, users who have purchased Blue Tick will have to see fewer ads on Twitter than other normal users. Priority will also be given to replies and tweets of verified Twitter users.
