We have prioritized cyber security: Minister Sharma
Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma has said that cyber security is a priority.
On Tuesday, while giving a greeting message on the occasion of National Information and Communication Technology Day 2080, Minister Sharma said that cyber security is a priority.
“Studies for the establishment of the National Cyber Security Center have been advanced to face the challenges in cyber security,” he said in his message.
The use of communication and information technology is expanding rapidly. The services provided by the state to citizens are becoming information technology friendly. Information technology has been established not only as a means of entertainment but also as an essential service.
He said that the government is determined that good governance and prosperity can be achieved in the country only through the use of communication and information technology.
Sharma said that through the use of information technology, there is a qualitative change in the lives of common citizens and transparency, ease, and speed in service delivery, as well as help in cost reduction.
According to him, the government has advanced the study for the establishment of the National Cyber Security Center to face the challenges in cyber security, and the government has also prioritized the creation of policies and laws related to cyber security.
Digital Nepal Framework 2076 has been issued and implemented with the belief of transforming the economic and social sectors by using timely information technology for rapid development and high economic growth. But its implementation is very slow.
Sixth National Information and Communication Technology Day is being celebrated on Tuesday with the main slogan ‘Safe Information Technology: Good Governance and Prosperity’. On this occasion, individuals and organizations who have contributed to the field of information and communication technology in Nepal are also being honored.
