In WhatsApp, it is now possible to run the app in group chats using a username without a phone number. WhatsApp has added such a feature to the Android app through beta program in version 2.23.5.12.
Due to this, when you go to a group, you should not be confused as to which unsaved contact is who. For group chat, any name can be kept along with the phone number, so that even without saving the number, the user can communicate in the group chat.
This will make it easier for WhatsApp users who are connected to many Ota groups. You don’t have to save the names of everyone in the chat. This feature will be very useful for large group chats. This feature is also available for some beta testers on iOS.
This feature is currently only available for beta users. It will take some time for everyone to use it.
