Moto G100 Teasers, Leaks, Specifications, Features & Availability

Of all the brands, it was Motorola who were the first to launch a smartphone with the Snapdragon 870 chipsets. The Motorola Edge S that was launched in China back in January featured the higher-clocked Snapdragon 865 chipset. The company has now teased the global launch of the device. In the global market, the phone will debut as the Moto G100. In this post, we will be taking a look at the specs, features, expected price, and availability of the Moto G100 in Nepal.

Moto G100 Overview

Design and Display

The upcoming Moto G100 will the flagship product in the recently overhauled Moto G series lineup of smartphones. Though the company has not confirmed much about the specs of the device, all the reports suggest that the Moto G100 will be a rebadged Edge S. If it happens to the case, we are looking at a phone with a 6.7-inch FHD+ screen. It will be an LCD panel but we will at least be getting the support for a 90Hz refresh rate. The display will have a double punch-hole cutout for the dual selfie camera setup.

Performance and Memory

Like mentioned earlier, the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 870 chipset. This has already confirmed from the official teaser. The phone was also previously spotted on the Geekbench listing with the “neo” codename, which refers to the SD 870. The chipset is based on last year’s Snapdragon 865. The process node and the architecture are the same, while the only difference lies in the Prime core which is now clocked higher at 3.2GHz.

Snapdragon 870 5G

The Geekbench listing also confirms the device to run on Android 11. As we all know, Motorola is among the few brands that use near-stock Android for their phones. The brands include Google and Nokia both of which have not launched a Snapdragon 800 series phone in a while.

Camera

The rear camera setup is led by a 64MP primary camera. It will have a brighter f/1.7 aperture. There will be a 16MP ultrawide sensor as well. Likewise, it will have a 2MP depth sensor and a Time of Flight sensor. The selfie set up on the front will consist of a 16MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide sensor.

Rest of the Specs

The phone will be fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging. The teaser shows the existence of a 3.5mm headphone jack along with the Type-C port and the speaker grille on the bottom of the screen. Similarly, the fingerprint scanner will be on the side of the device.
