This year, Acer’s Swift lineup gains two new lightweight laptops. The Swift Go 14 and Swift Go 16 are new laptops with a 16:10 aspect ratio OLED screen and Intel’s new 13th-generation CPUs, among other features. So, let’s take a look at the Acer Swift Go 14 and 16 specs, features, availability, and expected price in Nepal.
Acer Swift Go 14, 16 Overview:
The Swift Go 14 and Go 16 have 14-inch and 16-inch screens, respectively. Both models come with an OLED display that offers a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. But the 14″ variant has a refresh rate of 90Hz, whereas the 16″ model features 120Hz.
In addition to the OLED display, both the Swift Go 14 and 16 also come with IPS screens. Here, you can choose between Full HD and 2.2K resolution for the Go 14 and Full HD and WQXGA resolution for the Go 16. There’s no higher refresh rate support, though.
In terms of build quality, the Swift Go laptops come with a lightweight aluminum body that measures 14.9mm. They also include an eco-friendly OceanGlass touchpad for a smooth multitasking experience.
Performance-wise, these laptops get Intel’s new 13th Gen chipsets, providing a 10% increase in productivity compared to the previous 12th Gen CPUs. There are options for either the U-series or H-series CPU, giving users flexibility in terms of processor choice. Meanwhile, users will also be able to choose Swift Go 14 with AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors.
To ensure optimal thermal performance, Acer has used the Twin Air Cooling system in these laptops. It utilizes dual fans to dissipate heat in a more efficient and controlled manner. Acer says this results in a 60.7% boost in thermal performance compared to a single fan.
Furthermore, the laptop’s dual copper heat pipes and air-inlet keyboard are specifically designed to expel 10% more heat than a standard laptop keyboard, allowing the surface to remain cool even after extended use.
Over on the memory front, you get to choose between 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB, 512B, and 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD. As a 13th Gen laptop, it also supports Intel Unison software, which allows you to connect your iPhone or Android device to your PC and make calls and send texts.
Besides that, both the Swift Go 14 and 16 include a 1440p webcam that works in tandem with the Intel Movidius VPU. This technology allows you to enjoy features such as background blur, auto framing, and eye contact alerts even in low-light situations.
The port options on these laptops are also quite good. There are two USB Type C (Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4) ports here, as well as two USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1 ports, and a MicroSD slot.
