Android apps can mimic malware, free VPN, Netflix and 60,000 more apps
Adware has been found in thousands of Android apps. Cyber security company BitDefender has found that at least 60,000 Android apps contain adware. Apps with such adware show annoying or deceptive ads.
As this adware is automatic, cyber security experts have found that it is affecting a large area. Apps with such adware are not available in the official app store. But these apps look like the official app on playstore.
Hackers have forced users to download these apps by showing some of the features below. These include game crack, new feature unlocked games, free vpn, fake videos, netflix, ad-free tiktok or youtube, fake security and utility programs etc.
Seeing these features, users prefer to install these apps due to which the device may get infected with adware. This malware has been active since at least October, 2022.
