Some time ago, when the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma visited India, she asked for a reduction in the telephone rates between Nepal and India.

Narendra KC, the press expert of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, has informed that after a long homework, calling from India to Nepal will cost 7 rupees per minute.

Currently, when Nepalis go to India with roaming facility, they have to pay 30 rupees per minute when calling Nepal from India through Nepal Telecom SIM.

The new fee will be implemented after a few days. According to KC, it is expected that this will provide convenience to Nepalis who are going to India for a short period of time.

At present, Nepalis who go on short trips such as medical treatment, business etc. are forced to not get Indian SIMs and have to pay expensive fees for Nepali SIMs.
