Corruption case against Assistant Director of National Information Technology Center Ramesh Pokharel

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against Assistant Director of National Information Technology Center Ramesh Prasad Pokharel.

Aktiar has filed a corruption case against Pokharel, who was previously working as a representative at Surakshan Printing Center, in a special court with a claim of 203.8 million bigo.

It is alleged that during the purchase of Security Printing Press, Security Printing Center prepared and approved abnormal costs, accepted substandard electric transformers contrary to the purchase agreement, and accepted and paid for generators manufactured in countries other than those mentioned in the agreement.

Similarly, it is said that the property of the government has been illegally embezzled by purchasing a bulk fuel tank system that was not needed and could not be justified by paying more in advance for the operation of the structure and the service after the supply without doing the work as per the purchase agreement.

Pokharel is currently working as Assistant Director and Spokesperson at National Information Technology Center (NITC).

According to the Commission, a demand has been taken against him for the offense under Clause (a) of Section 8 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, imprisonment as per Sub-Section (1) of Section 8 of the same Act and fined accordingly.
