Cymex Inc., BYD’s distributor, planted 1,500 saplings on World Environment Day
Symex Inc., the official distributor of BYD in Nepal, has planted 1,500 saplings on the occasion of World Environment Day. Tree plantation campaign has been done with the help of ‘Building Dreams and Forest’ project.
The campaign aligns with BYD’s vision ‘Cool the Earth by One Degree’ while revitalizing the area of Chakhandol Community Forest in Kathmandu. Cymex is proceeding to contribute to the regeneration by planting 1,500 saplings at strategic locations.
Kathmandu, which is included in the list of the most polluted cities in the world, has been suffering from harmful air pollution for a long time. Yamuna Shrestha, managing director of the company, said that Cymex has tried to reduce the adverse effects of air pollution in Kathmandu by taking this initiative.
The ‘Building Dreams and Forest’ campaign will ensure a comprehensive and effective tree planting process using the Miyawaki technique for tree planting. This approach will promote the further development of Chakhandol Community Forest by planting dense and diverse trees.
Forest and Environment Minister Dr. Birendra Prasad Mahato participated in the opening ceremony by planting the first sapling as a symbol of the beginning of the campaign.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, Cymex Inc. also invited prominent people like customers, environmentalists, government representatives and respected brand ambassador of BYD Nepal, Harivansh Acharya.
The program was concluded with the formal planting of about 200 trees representing the common dedication to environmental protection, while the remaining 1,300 trees are scheduled to be planted within the next 15 days.
