Day 2 of Huawei Digital Nepal Conclave: Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Security and Leadership debated
Huawei Digital Nepal Conclave 2023 continues on the second day. On the second day of the conclave, which started from Friday, 6 sessions will be held on various topics.
The conclave inaugurated by the Prime Minister on Friday was attended by senior officials including Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma. Finance Minister Prakasharan Mahat and Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha will be present.
On the second day, there will be panel sessions on Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Digital Capability, Digital Economy, Fintech, Data Governance, Digital Security, Digital Leadership and Digital Capability.
In the first session of the panel discussion, the speakers were Surendra Basnet, Vice President of National Youth Council, Suman Pokharel, Senior Vice President of IMA Group, NJ Subedi, Founder of Yarsa Tech, Smaran Duwadi, CEO of Code Himalaya, Prathana Sakh, President of NYEF Kathmandu Chapter.
In the second such session, Guru Prasad Paudel, Executive Director of Payment Department of Rashtra Bank, Sanjeev Subba, Chairman of Fintech Alliance Nepal, Diwas Sapkota, CEO of PhonePay and Pravin Regmi, CEO of IME Pay are present.
In the third session, Deputy Statistics Officer of National Statistics Office Hemraj Regmi, Executive Director of National Information Technology Center Pradeep Sharma Paudel, Chief Information Officer of Ncell Vishal Mani Upadhyay, Narendra Mainali of NIC Asia Bank are the speakers.
In the fourth session, members of the House of Representatives, Mahesh Bertaula, Pradip Paudel, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Pramil Bajracharya and Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Arjun Pokharel are present.
In addition to the panel discussion, expert papers will also be presented. Richan Shrestha, Chairman of NAS IT, Samir Maskey, CEO of FusionSyn, Sen Ju of Huawei Asia Pacific, Balkrishna Joshi, Co-Founder of Thamel.com, Thomas Kurin, UNCDF Digital Finance Expert, Hill H. Kobashi, Professor of University of Tokyo, Sajna Maharjan Amatya of Data for Development, Alok of Check Point Software Dipesh Bista, Chairman, Electronic Governance Commission, will present the working paper.
On the first day, there was an extensive discussion on digital infrastructure, digital identity card and digital provinces and digital municipalities.
The 2-day Digital Nepal Conclave, which started on Friday with the slogan of ‘Fostering Digitally Enabled Nepal’, will emphasize Nepal’s capability for digital transformation and the necessary policies and implementation for it.
Along with the conclave, the Mobile Nepal Congress is also being organized. The participants will get information about new technologies along with 5G, AI at Mobile Congress.
