On Tuesday, a program was organized in the hall of the board, informing that the system development work for the desk has started, and the plans to take the board to digital technology along with cyber security were also ‘demonstration’.

Director General of Information Technology Department Prem Sharan Shrestha, Executive Director of National Information Technology Center Pradip Sharma Paudel, Registrar of Nepal Copyright Registrar Prahlad Prasad Pudasaini, Police Superintendent of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Rabindra Regmi, Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police Rupak Khadka of Police Headquarters, Police Inspector Khemraj Khanal, Senior Deputy Inspector of Police Santosh Lama, Deputy Inspector of Police Kopila KC, Board member KL Budhathoki, presidents of film related organizations and other officials, film workers and journalists were present.

In the program, Bikrant Karki, Founder of Robotics Academy of Nepal and Nibesh Kiran Adhikari of Idea Breed IT Solutions jointly showed a demonstration about Cinema Cyber ​​Security Desk. These two IT companies will work on system development for the desk.

Bhuvan KC, executive chairman of the board, said that the program was organized to discuss the issue of how to get rid of the cyber attacks that the Nepali film industry is facing and the steps to be taken by the board.

“Through social networks like TikTok, YouTube and Facebook, it has become easier for Nepali filmmakers to showcase their work and reach a wider audience,” he said, “however, this has also created new challenges in terms of cyber security.”

According to KC, the board has decided to take active steps by adopting a policy to establish a dedicated desk related to film cyber security to address the challenges.

The board has already submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology for the budget allocation for the next financial year regarding the operation of the ‘Cinema Cyber ​​Security’ desk and its cost.
