More than 13 lakh 14 thousand e-passports issued

More than 13 lakh 14 thousand electronic passports (e-passports) have been issued. More than 13 lakh 14 thousand e-passports have been issued till February of the current financial year.

The government started issuing e-passports from November 1, 2078. Currently, e-passports are being issued by all 77 district administration offices, 17 area administration offices and 38 foreign missions.

About 6,000 e-passports are currently being printed in the passport department. The department receives 1,800 online applications for passports every day.
