Redmi Note Series lineup is undoubtedly the most famous name in the midrange segment. The Xiaomi-backed company globally launched the Note 12 Series quite some months ago. Under the same series, it also sneakily launched the Note 12R Pro smartphone in China with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip. Now, rumors are ripe about the vanilla version of the phone, the Note 12R which will reportedly house a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
China Telecom database has revealed an unannounced SoC for the Note 12R which is none other than the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. This new 5G silicon will offer a slight improvement over its predecessor, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. It will feature two ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.2 GHz with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 1.95 GHz and an Adreno 619 GPU. Meanwhile, Qualcomm is rumored to adapt Samsung’s 4nm node on this upcoming silicon.
Design and Display
In terms of design, we might see the Note 12R getting a similar tone as the Redmi Note 12 Turbo Edition/Poco F5. The renders are showcasing a punch-hole display and a rear panel with protruding camera lens. China Telecom listed a 6.79-inch FHD+ display and 168.6 x 76.3 x 8.17mm and 199g dimensions for the phone. While the color options will be Midnight Black, Sky Fantasy, and Time Blue.
Camera
Getting to the optics, the carrier is pointing towards a dual camera setup. The Redmi Note 12R will sport a 50MP main camera alongside a 2MP depth-sensing unit. There is no info regarding the front camera though, it might be a 16MP snapper.
Battery and Others
Powering the phone will be a 5,000mAH battery. The charging speed is inside the curtain for now but what’s sure is that it will charge via a USB Type-C port. Besides that, the Note 12R will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The official price of Redmi Note 12R will start at CNY 1,100 for the base 4/128GB version in China. The launch will occur on June 30. We can expect the Redmi Note 12R price in Nepal to start from NPR 29,999 if and when it launches here.
