Successful test of Nepal's first high altitude balloon Pico Hab

A team of students studying in various departments under the School of Engineering and School of Science of Kathmandu University has successfully tested Pico-Hab. Sedus KU chapter under Sedus Nepal conducted a successful test of Pico-Hab on Tuesday.

After the successful test on Tuesday, the balloon will be flown today. Weather permitting, the balloon to be flown on Thursday is expected to reach up to 50 meters.

Pico Hab is Nepal’s first high-altitude balloon, which is a smaller version of the Udaya project. Orion Space and Green Hydrogen Lab supported the Pico-Hab test.

According to Sudan Baral, President of Cedus KU, after the successful test of Pico-Hab, Project Uday will also be tested before December.

Apart from these, Cedus KU has announced Cubesat, Rocketry, etc. projects. Apart from this, research on GNSS for disaster management and mitigation, cleaner and safer rocket fuel, and satellite image processing is ongoing. Cedus KU is also conducting Space Nun and Space Talk programs.
