Telecom’s free SIM, voice, SMS and data to customers going from CDMA to GSM

Nepal Telecom is offering free SIM, voice, data and SMS to customers who convert from CDMA service to GSM Forge service.

Announcing the information on Saturday, the telco has requested the customers using the Skyphone service to contact the nearest telecommunication office and get a free GSM Forge SIM card instead of the CDMA they are using.

For Skyphone prepaid customers

GSM Forge SIM card number 976 XXXXXX can be availed free of cost by returning the 974 XXXXXXX range of Skyphone Prepaid SIM card used. The last 7 digits of the CDMA number you are using now will come in the new GSM number.

The GSM Forge SIM will have 300 monthly calls, 300 SMS and 4 GB data for free for 6 months.

Free call minutes and SMS can be used within the network of Nepal Telecom. The balance and validity of the old CDMA number will be automatically transferred to the new number.

For Skyphone postpaid customers

The GSM Forge SIM card numbered 98513 XXXXXX can be availed free of cost by returning the used 975 XXXXXXX range Skyphone Prepaid SIM card.

The last 5 digits of the CDMA number you are using now will come in the new GSM number. The GSM Forge SIM will have 400 monthly calls for 6 months, 200 SMS, 50 minutes monthly calls on other networks and 6 GB of data for free.

The new monthly number will not be subject to the minimum monthly tariff till January, 2078 BS. Bills, deposits and advances on the old CDMA number will be automatically transferred to the new number.
