Holi 2012, Holi in Nepal, Lola in Holi, Fagu Purnima

First of all before writing anything I just want to wish you a very
happy holi 2012 (2068). You may also know, in Nepal we celebrate this
very holi festival usually in the month of Falgun (esp March). This year
also we have just came to the season of colours. Yes, I’m talking about
Holi festival. Holi is also called Fagu Purnima which is celebrate in
Nepal and India also.
I used to play holi in the wild but this time I have got no any interest
in playing holi. Now a days trends of celebrating has been changed to
playing holi in the sense that throwing lola especially to girls walking
on the street. Today also while I was going to Baneshwor Chowk I saw
girls in red as seemed they were victims of lola. I was thinking girls
were innocent but they blasted lola and colours on me. Ha! what else I
could do then I ran away from there?
I saw small boys(kids) blocking the street so I have to turn my bike to
next street and escaped from them. They were there to beg for money. I
don’t know why they beg for money only on this holi day (not to be
confused with holiday or break). Last year me and my friends painted our
face. We filled lola plastics & baloons with coloured water and went
around the streets of Kathmandu playing and throwing lola to the girls.
I still remember we guys really enjoyed a lot but for some we became
troublesome. So this year I am not going to play holi but have a good
plan to celebrate a peaceful holi among family, friends and relatives
only. So what about your holi day or fagu purnima resolution? Please let
us know by commenting below.
