Today is a lucky day because today (many centuries ago) a prince name Siddhartha Gautam was born in Lumbini, Nepal. Yes, that prince was Gautam Buddha, the light of the World. Today world is going to celebrate the birthday of our Lord Buddha. This festival is officially called Buddha Purnima, Veskha, Vaishaka & Vesak, and sometimes also called Buddha’s Birthday or Buddha Day.
Today we are going to celebrate Buddha Jayanti (Purnima) on the date 24th of Baisakh (24-01-2069 B.S.) according to Nepali calendar or 6th of May 2012.
