Coping
Everything will be alright. No matter how unbearable life might seem at any given moment in time, be it upon the death of a loved one, throughout a debilitating illness or even under the burden of financial difficulties, these soothing words eventually ring true, unveiling the wisdom behind the age-old maxim — this too shall pass.
When nature honors its promise to mankind and the clouds of pain and confusion pass away, the sun comes out again and life, as they say, goes on.
Man’s perception, however, is always clear ‘after the fact’. At the time the tragedy strikes, his sense of rationale collapses into a crumpled heap of tears, anxiety, and fear, rendering him helpless and unable to cope. So the question that begs to be answered is this: how does one get by during turbulent times when words of comfort and wisdom have little or no effect? Can a man ever be prepared for the worst?
