Actors including Raju Master, Balchi Dhruve ordered to be released on 5,000 bail
The court has ordered the arrest of artist Marichman Shrestha (Balchi Dhurve) and Raju Poudel (Raju Master) who were arrested for promoting the online betting website One X Bet on a bail of Rs 5,000.
Sitaram Rizal, SP, District Police Office, Kathmandu, said that the artists were released on bail after the District Court, Kathmandu, ordered them to be released on bail.
Along with Balchi Dhruve and Rajumaster, Jalan Ghartimagar, Alish Rai Ganesh Devkota, Begum Nepali, Roshan Khatiwada and Saroj Ghimire were also arrested by the Valley Crime Investigation Office, Baneshwar, for their involvement in the promotion of betting websites.
They are accused of having committed an offense under Section 5, Subsection 29.0 and Section 25, Subsection 1 of the Advertising Regulation Act 2076.
According to the indictment, punishment has been demanded for them in accordance with sub-section 2 of section 25 of the Advertising Regulation Act. In which there is a provision of imprisonment up to one year and a fine of up to 10,000 rupees.
Dinesh Khadka and Anita Dhital, who are said to be betting agents, have been asked to pay a bail of Rs 10 lakh. Kushal Pokharel involved in this case is absconding.
The District Public Prosecutor’s Office demanded Rs 64 crore 94 lakh 29 thousand 820 rupees, saying that Dinesh Khadka and Anita Dhital had committed an offense under Section 95, Sub-section 1 and 2 of the Nepal Rashtra Bank Act 2058.
