People eat different types of food, wear clothes and jewelry, and also like new fashions. Recently, women have started learning new skills using social media.

In the past people had to go to specific places to learn different skills. There was a compulsion to go to a designated place and learn skills by paying a fee. But recently the situation has changed.

Those who want are learning skills with the help of social media and YouTube. Krishna Bhandari of Tikapur went to Dhangadhi to do something a few years ago and took 10 days of pote weaving training. ‘After the training, I started selling potes in the shop here, the consumption started to be good’, said Krishna, ‘the fashion that I learned a few years ago is not working today, so if I need to knit new designs of potes, I look at Tik Tok and YouTube.’

Krishna has also produced and sold all the goods of churapote and barmala by herself. Being a teacher by profession, she has run a shop at home. She has taught the skills she has learned to other women and given training in different municipalities.

I spend my time outside of school on skill development. I have taught hundreds of women to knit churapotes, barmalas and sweaters’, she said.

There are both advantages (disadvantages) of using social media. People will lose if they watch negative content while using social media. There are also many people who have benefited if they have seen the necessary knowledge and skillful videos and put them into practice.

Mamta Neupane, another trader from Tikapur, has also learned many knitting designs from YouTube and Tiktok. Mamta, who runs a fancy cloth shop, knits and sells poths, garlands and sweaters. ‘I have also learned new clothes and fashion sweaters and garlands from YouTube and TikTok’, she says, ‘this mobile phone is very useful. There will be nothing that is not in it. You can learn a lot by using it.’

‘Initially, my father-in-law ran a sewing shop, so I learned the skills from him’, she said, ‘Nowadays, I have to sew new fashion clothes. Newly designed clothes spread quickly’, Indra said, ‘I can sew the same fashion as the customer says they want. No one has been sent back. I look at it on mobile and I can make it like this.’

Every technology has positive and negative aspects. Most of the people forget to look at useless content on mobile and internet. There are many people who have suffered and wasted their time due to the wrong use of mobile phones.

When using any technology or mobile, it is necessary to see only what you need. Teacher Amar Chaudhary says that if people look and learn what they need on the Internet, it will help them to become businessmen.

“There are many people who are wrongly addicted to mobile phones, like this woman, it is necessary to use mobile phones correctly”, he said, “It is necessary to use social networks and technology correctly.” There are also things that will take a lot of work in social networks if used properly.’
