Minister Sharma’s call to investors: Nepal is suitable for investing in IT, invest

Rekha Sharma, the minister of communication and information technology, has pushed international capital to fund Nepal’s IT industry.

Minister Sharma encouraged them to invest in information technology, stating that Nepal is a suitable place to do so in many ways, during his speech at the investment conference on Monday.

“The information technology industry benefits greatly from our favourable geographic location,” she stated. “There is great potential to operate the information technology industry at a low cost due to the availability of skilled manpower.”

He claimed that since 100,000 young people are engaged in the export of IT services and 10,000 more Nepali youth are employed in the field of information technology each year, there is no labour shortage in the country.

It was advised that other laws will also be made and amended in accordance with the requirements in order to make Nepal an investment-friendly country.

She stated that the government is determined to establish Nepal as a center for information technology and that she is prepared to work with investors in this regard.
