Rastra Bank will now also link the national identity card to the centralized KYC system

Nepal Rastra Bank is now going to link the national identity card to the centralized KYC system. In the monetary policy of the current financial year, the National Bank will arrange for the National Identity Card to be linked to the Central Customer Identification System.

According to the National Bank, this arrangement has been made to facilitate the exchange of customer information between banks and financial institutions and other organizations licensed to perform payment-related activities.

It has been mentioned in the monetary policy that necessary coordination with the related agencies will be necessary for the construction and implementation of the central customer identification system so that the national identity card (National ID) issued by the government will be included in the central customer identification (centralized KYC) system.
