iPhone 15 or Samsung S24, which one is right for you?

Two well-known companies in the smartphone industry are Apple and Samsung. Phones from both these brands are expected for everyone. Moreover, the flagship phone that comes once a year between special events becomes a matter of great anticipation for any smartphone connoisseur.

Now the latest smartphone series of both these brands are gaining popularity in the market. It includes Apple’s iPhone 15 series and Samsung’s S24 series. This series is also available in Nepal. The sale of the iPhone 15 series started in Nepal last October, while the Samsung 24 series has been available since January 12.

iPhone 15 series includes iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Similarly, there are S24 S24 Plus and S24 Ultra in the Samsung S24 series.

iPhone 15 has a new chipset, action button, USB-C charging, Face ID, dynamic island, refined camera and other features.

Design and display

Looking at the design of the iPhone 15, you can find some differences in the curved edges and the glass panel. The iPhone 15 weighs 171 grams and has an IP68 rating. This means that the iPhone 15 is also dust and water-resistant.

iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display. But its refresh rate is only 60 Hz. However, to give the display a premium experience, Apple has added a dynamic island.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S24 has smaller bezels and wider edges than the previous phone. It has a glass back, a metal frame and a small punch-hole camera on the screen. Similarly, the camera on the back of the phone is different from that of the iPhone.

Samsung has given a 6.2-inch omelette display to the Galaxy S24. It has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Compared to the iPhone 15, the brightness of the S24 is also higher. The iPhone has a maximum of 2000 nits while the S24 has a maximum of 2600 nits.

A new thing added to the design of the iPhone 15 is the Type-C port. Apple had announced that the new series would include a Type-C port following the European Union’s policy.

Camera

Regarding the camera, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have a 48-megapixel main lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens. The iPhone 15 Pro has a 48-megapixel main, 12-megapixel ultrawide and 12-megapixel telephoto lenses.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX 903 sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto periscope lens.

Four cameras have been given in the fan of Samsung series with five times zoom capability. Among them, the S24 Ultra has a 200-megapixel main camera, while the S24 and S24 Plus have a 50-megapixel main camera.

Apple releases a new processor with every new model. This year, Apple introduced a new processor A17 bionic chip in the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Also, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have installed the A16 bionic chipset that was given to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max last year.

The iPhone 15 has a 3877 mAh battery, while the 15 Plus has a 4912 mAh battery. Similarly, the iPhone 15 Pro has a 3650 mAh battery and the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 4852 mAh battery.

Samsung has provided a 4000 mAh capacity battery in the base model of S24. Also, the S24 Ultra has a 5000 mAh battery and the S24 Plus has a 4900 mAh battery.

Storage

The highest RAM provided by Apple in the iPhone 15 is 6 GB. In terms of internal storage, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have options of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB of internal storage.

In terms of RAM, the Samsung S24 has 8 GB of RAM. Internal storage variants are provided with 256 and 512 GB.

While the S24 Plus has 12GB RAM, it can be purchased in 256GB and 512GB internal storage variants.

Similarly, 12 GB RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB internal storage variants are available in S24 Ultra.

For the iPhone 15 Plus, the price of the 128 GB storage variant is Rs. 1,76,000, while for the 256 GB storage variant, it is Rs. 1,95,000. The price of the 512 GB internal storage variant is Rs. 2,33,000.

For the iPhone 15 Pro, the price of the 128 GB storage variant is Rs. 1,95,000, while for the 256 GB storage variant, it is Rs. 2,14,000. The price of the 512 GB internal storage variant is Rs. 2,53,000, and for the 1 TB storage variant, it is Rs. 2,90,000.

For the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the price of the 256 GB storage variant is Rs. 2,33,000, while for the 512 GB internal storage variant, it is Rs. 2,71,000. The price of the 1 TB storage variant is yet to be announced.

Moving on to Samsung, the price of the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage variant of Samsung S24 Ultra is Rs. 1,84,999. The price of the 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage variant is Rs. 1,99,999.

For Samsung S24 Plus, the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage variant is available at Rs. 1,42,999.

Lastly, the price of the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage variant of Samsung S24 is Rs. 1,19,999.
