The word micro does ring a bell of being small, right? But it is this micro system that does wonders in the electrical world. Big miracles often tend to happen through small people, just like the story of Goliath. Right from automation until security, they have a wide range of uses.
The micro switches, as the name suggests, are small switches that are used in bell systems or in small parts of a computer chip. Most of these have a plastic coating guided along with a metal in the back for conducting electricity. Other switches, for example, the ones that we use in our homes like fans or lights, are just one way. We either switch it on or we switch it off. The whole world drives in automation right now (having Alexa and automated cars like the Tesla) and these are a major part of this automation industry. So, in short, these can be referred to as devices that are helpful in the safety industry and are the perfect design.
Not only do they ring a bell and protect our homes, but they are also utilized in our daily uses like machines, refrigerators, AC’s, etc. They have a simple lever mechanism which helps them glide back into their normal state after being pushed just like the doorbells or alarm systems. In short, they depend highly on the input given, unless, otherwise, they stay stable in their own position. This could also be better explained by using Newton’s third law which states the system stays at rest unless an external force acts upon it.
No other category of switches has this lever uniqueness, going back to their own form after being pushed. The usual switches are just the form of either on or off. These tend to disobey the master and have their own rules!
As small is the new big, people are more focused towards creating a nanotechnology world. These switches prove to be the right platform. They are engineered in such a way that they can literally fit into any electronic gadget and provide the same purpose. They are extensively used in alarm systems and triggers. They are also recently being employed as one of the substitutes in cars in the accelerators and clutches. The design is being modified in order to fit into any system.
