A 2-day ‘Avishkar 24’ is being organized at KU to promote innovation

Kathmandu University Robotics Club (KURC) is going to organize a two-day event ‘Avishkar 24’ aimed at promoting innovation among students and professionals about the latest advancements in the field of robotics.

Invention 2024 will be held on March 12 and 13 at Kathmandu University Central Campus Dhulikhel Kavre. It is expected that more than 300 enthusiastic competitors, more than 40 innovative project demonstrations, and more than 30 school and college representatives will participate in more than 4000.

Innovation 2024 will have events like Aquabot, Ideation, Hardware Hackathon, Project Padarshini, Robo Race and Innovation Nexus. The program is expected to appeal to anyone interested in the future of robotics.

Aquabot is a cleaning robot competition. The main objective of this competition is to clean the garbage in the reservoir like lakes or rivers. Robots participating in this competition have to remove garbage from the surface of the water and throw it away.

Ideation is a competition based on ideas. It will bring people from different fields to a table and draft a solution through mutual discussion. This program is designed to guide the participants in the discussion to make decisions on various issues.

Likewise, the participants in the hardware hackathon will try to create completely new and unique things as soon as possible, while various projects will be placed in the project exhibition. The participants will have to present their projects in front of the judges and the audience and the winner will be selected by the votes of the judges and the audience.

There will be a competition between wireless robots in the robot race, where robots will run on a track with obstacles. Obstacles will include mazes, suspension bridges, sand, hills, ditches, etc. The top 6 robots who complete the track race with maximum points will qualify for the final race, while the robot with the highest score in the final race will be declared the winner.
