Can using an Android cable to charge the iPhone 15 cause damage to the device?

Apple released the iPhone 15 series in September. This series included four smartphones: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone Pro, and iPhone Pro Max.

Along with this series, the company has removed the previous lightning port and provided a USB-C charging facility. That’s why people are wondering whether the Android cable can be used to charge the iPhone 15 series.

Does the iPhone get damaged when charging via an Android cable?

A viral misconception claims that using an Android USB-C cable to charge an iPhone can cause damage, but this is not true.

According to a report by Gizmo China, Apple stores in China have advised users not to use Android chargers on the iPhone 15. They say that it will increase the overheating.

This is not entirely accurate because not all devices have specific standards for USB C cables. The Android Echo Charger can charge any device, including the new iPhone 15 series models.

People have previously charged the iPad Air, iPad Pro, and MacBook using a third-party USB-C cable. Therefore, these cables can charge the iPhone 15 model.

The iPhone brings this feature to charge the iPhone using the Android USB-C charging cable. However, Apple is said to have a different use case for the USB C port on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, as you get USB C 2.0 and USB C 3.2 standards.

Simply put, using an Android phone’s USB cable does not make any difference to an iPhone because you’ll only get the speed set by Apple for the new iPhone.
