Nepali team for the International Linguistic Olympiad in Bansko, Bulgaria

The Nepali team has reached the city of Bansko, Bulgaria in the International Linguistic Olympiad. Dr. Computational Linguist and Associate Professor of Kathmandu University to represent Nepal. Balkrishna Bal, Nepali team including 4 Nepali students and 2 observers have reached Bansko, Bulgaria.

This linguistic Olympiad will be conducted till July 21, 29. This is the second participation of the Nepalese team, which first participated in South Korea in 2019. About 40 teams from different countries and more than 200 are participating in the Olympiad.

National Linguistic Olympiad in Nepal is being conducted every year under the banner of Himalayan Computational Linguistic Olympiad and in collaboration with Language Technology Center. Various governmental and non-governmental organizations have been supporting the operation since 2017.
