IBM will no longer hire new employees, AI will do the work instead

Tech company IBM has decided not to hire new employees in the coming years. The company said that instead of hiring new employees, it will use AI. That is, the work done by the company’s employees will now be done by AI.

The chief executive officer of International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation has said this. The company will focus on the development of AI and in the next few years, AI will replace 30 percent of the jobs in the company.

With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), companies are now on the way to reduce the workforce. Other big tech companies have also started doing this work now.

According to a Bloomberg report, Arvind Krishna, the company’s chief executive officer, said that the company will replace 30 percent of its jobs with AI in the next 5 years.

For this, the company has given a message that it will not hire new employees. According to the CEO, 7,800 jobs will be affected by AI. Because instead of human resources, artificial intelligence can be easily used there.

This includes human resource functions. According to reports, IBM recently laid off 5,000 people. In the coming days, the company has prepared to cut another 7,000 employees. Here, it is said that the job of the employee who is only looking after the work of sending employees from one department to another department or doing work like verification of letters will be terminated.

However, the company has refused to use AI to evaluate employees’ work in the future. At a time when the world is experiencing inflation and recession, the company has taken this step to save and reduce costs.

AI has only been around for a few months, but it’s starting to replace humans. Currently, only the initial phase of AI is underway. As progress in this continues, more jobs around the world will begin to be powered by AI. Because of this, it seems that the concern of employment will increase in the future.
