The problem of missing calls coming from abroad and not speaking while making calls, money being deducted
For some time now, missed calls from abroad have been coming to Nepal Telecom’s mobile number and even if the call is successful, no one speaks, the machine automatically answers and money is deducted from the customer’s balance.
In the last few days, there have been cases of auto dialing from the mobiles of the company’s mobile service customers, no call log being seen on the mobiles of the auto dialed customers and money being deducted if the external call is successful.
As such incidents may be through an app or website on the customer’s mobile, the company’s customers have urged the telco not to install or remove unnecessary and suspicious apps on their mobile sets.
Although such unauthorized calls are not normally made from the company’s equipment, the company is conducting necessary analysis regarding such unauthorized actions that may be done through an app or website for the convenience of the company’s customers.
In order to avoid unauthorized and unnecessary calls, the customers should also be vigilant and use the locking code provided by the company to open the ISD service when needed and turn off the service when not needed.
